A Whale of a Maze?

Many of us have whale size problems in our lives and we go through our life like a mouse lost in a maze not knowing which way to turn or how to get out.  When in reality we have the solution to the problem(s) or the answer on how to get out of our maze, yet we don’t use it.  The answer is God.  He is the solution.  He has everything we need.  We need only to go to our Heavenly Father and ask Him for His wisdom and He will give it.  James 1: 4-6 holds the key to how this will really come to pass in our life and how we will succeed at it:

“⁴ Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. ⁵ If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. ⁶ But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.”

First we have to do the asking.  God isn’t going to just make a decision one day and say, “Oh, my boy Johnny needs some wisdom to help him solve that problem (poof – Johnny has wisdom).”  These verses tell us that God gives generously to all…and it will be given.  Sounds like a guarantee to me.  However the last verse also tells us that we have one more condition to meet…”he must believe and not doubt”.  That is the condition that takes most of us down.  We focus on the negatives and doubt creeps in, instead of focusing on the almighty and powerful God that loves us more than we will ever know.  He wishes us no harm and only wants our best.  Now why wouldn’t He want us to have wisdom? 

So the question is “Are you going to believe God and ask?”  Take time to find your way out of the maze in full faith of the Lord who loves you.
