How many of us as kids idolized characters like “Superman” and “Wonder Woman”? I know I did. I wanted those Superheroes to fly in to my life and take me flying with them. I wanted to travel anywhere in the world with them. I wanted to defeat the enemy. I wanted to know I was safe. Sometimes the Superheroes would get in to a bit of a pinch, but they would always get out of their problem and go on to saving the day.
Isn’t it wonderful to know there is someone far superior to a Superhero to take care of us and this world we live in? The Book of Psalms contains lots of great stuff. Passages that are prophetic about our Lord. Passages that show us about life. Passages that deal with human emotions. And best yet, passages that teach us about God. For example, click here to read Psalm 104.
After reading that Psalm how could we ever doubt God as being all powerful and able to take care of our every need. If you have read other passages similar to this, you have to see how wonderful God is and how fruitless it is for us to worry about earthly things. The truth is we need to begin taking this knowledge we have gained about God and start applying it to our lives. Wisdom is the application of knowledge. Its one thing to know things, it is another thing to understand them and apply them. We are to use this knowledge. After reading Psalm 104 it would be wisdom for us not doubt our God anymore. He is there for us, more than Superman could ever be. He is not hindered by problems or Kryptonite like Superman.
So instead of looking down at our problems and needs, let’s look up to Heaven and proclaim, “SuperGod is Here!”
